Greetings!
I am very humbled and touched having grown up in this town to serve as Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in 2011. Many people have contributed and none more so than YOU the Businesses and for that I thank you.
Thank you, Michael Putz for your leadership not only this past year but for the past 8 years. Michael, your words of wisdom and insight are invaluable as well as your contributions with creating the event at the Kensington Business Center this past year.
What a great time to be a member of the Chamber of Commerce and to have your business in: The best place to raise Kids, Lee Dewyze, Randhurst Village Grand Opening in late April, and best of all, the Manager of the 2011 World Series Winner graduated from Prospect!
Reflecting on this past year has been like a ride roller coaster ride at Great America. It has many twists and turns. The ride is exhilarating, exciting, nerve racking, and just when you think the ride is over, there's another loop de loop then the ride comes to an end. That's how this past year has been for many of us, but we are still here and 2011 will be an even better year. So pat your selves on the back for a job well done!!
I would like to share with you some of the goals in 2011 that the Board will be working on to help you the businesses.
· To increase membership. I am pleased to inform you that the Chamber has reduced the membership price as well as added a number of new value added benefit. For more information visit: www.mountprospectchamber.org/pdf/2011MemberApp.pdf.
We are also offering a 5% discount for paying early for renewing membership and have in place a referral program. AS YOU THE BUSINESS ARE THE CHAMBER!!
· To continue to work closely with the Village of Mount Prospect; how we can help not only the existing businesses but bring new businesses to the area.
· To continue to work with the Not-For Profits and service organizations to increase their exposure.
· To make 2011 a successful beginning to a new era and working with Jim, Angel and Dawn. As Jim will be retiring at some point in 2011, if anyone has any special Jim moments that they would like to share, please e-mail them to me at beaccounting@sbcglobal.net and they will be included in a future column.
In this upcoming year I am looking forward to seeing you at one of our many events. Our next after-hours will be on January 20th at Elements Diet and Fitness, 106 E Emerson Street, on Thursday January 20th www.elementsmp.com.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Staff, I would like to wish you and your business a very profitable 2011. CHA-CHING!!
Sincerely,
